Visual storytelling is my passion.
My name is Jeff Galyan, and I am a cinematographer. Photography was my first hobby as a child, starting when my mother gave me a little Kodak 110 camera when I was in first grade. I caught the bug, and have nurtured it throughout my life, making thousands of photographs (and occasionally winning an award – I have been a finalist in the Hasselblad Masters competition both times I’ve entered, and have recently been invited to enter again), and got interested in cinematography during high school. After high school, I went through the film program at De Anza College in Cupertino, where I made several award-winning short films. I recently relocated to Los Angeles, in order to do what I love full-time. Since relocating, I’ve been blessed with the mentorship, guidance, and friendship of some of the world’s best cinematographers, whose generosity with their knowledge and experience has helped me grow tremendously as an artist.
